Class Schedule for January 2010
In our project classes you can learn to knit anything from scarves to socks to felted purses to lace shawls to hats to sweaters.
Pick your project and join in the fun. Our knitters inspire each other to try new things by sharing ideas and showing off their latest creation.

Pre-registration is required as class sizes are limited. Please choose your dates carefully. Because of scheduling conflicts and complications, make-up classes will only be allowed under special circumstances and individual consideration.

Sit and Knit or Crochet Saturdays
You’re invited to come sit in our little living
room and share your love of handwork with
other Fiber Friends.
We’re open from 8am-6pm on Saturdays and all are
welcome.

Knitting with Fabric
with Lorna Miser |
Students should bring a "fat quarter" of quilting
cotton fabric. These are readily available
cuts of fabric 18" x 22". They also need SHARP scissors with long blades that will cut fabric easily, a 12" or longer ruler, a pen or pencil, size 8 or 9 needles.
Optional would be:
1/4 yard of polar fleece, size 13 needles,
small amount of mohair yarn. |

Introduction to Hand Painting Yarn with Maya
|
This is a participation workshop
dyeing with safe food dyes.
You’ll receive un-dyed yarn and after a brief intro you’ll be painting on your own. |

The Green Sweater KAL
|
This project is a beautiful design of an Elizabeth Zimmerman original that was reverse engineered by Sunday Holm. It is an intermediate level undertaking and you will learn “steeking” along with various shaping and finishing details. |
This KAL is going to have at least 4 meetings. The first 2 will be July 6 & 13 from 6:30pm-8pm and the last 2 meeting will be on Tuesday evenings in August. The dates will be determined by how everyone’s project is working out. Participants will receive a 10% discount on materials. Class size is limited so sign up soon.

Our Teachers
Gustine received a BS in Textile and Costume Design from UC Davis in 2000. She has been knitting, spinning and weaving since 1997 and started developing her love of dyeing 1998.
Maya learned to knit from her Grandmother Arlone when she was 5 years old and like so many of us drifted away from it. Four years ago she rediscovered the art and has been addicted ever since. She will be teaching children's and beginning classes in April. |
